Piers Morgan right now is ever present in the US media defending NI and Murdoch. This is what we know about Piers Morgan:

• He was editor of another British tabloid (the Daily Mirror) for years until he was sacked after publishing faked pictures of British soldiers abusing Iraqis. It was the biggest tabloid scandal before the current one. 
• We now know phone hacking was probably widespread throughout the industry during his time as editor of the Mirror.
• His reputation has improved since he became a judge on a famously idiotic British talent show, but he is generally reviled in the UK and there was astonishment when he got Larry King's slot at CNN. 
• His agent must be the Leonardo Di Vinci of agents.
